RMDG

History |

Robert Morton or RMDG Aerospace was acquired by the French owned MR Industries in June 2001 and changed its name to Tecalemit Aerospace. In June of 2006 the company was sold to the UK based Tricorn Group. At this stage it was decided to change the name back to RMDG Aerospace.

Robert Morton started his first business as Brass Founder and Coppersmith in 1838 in Stockton-on-Tees in the North East of England. The business moved to Burton upon Trent in the late 1870’s – mainly to serve the brewing industry. With the development and use of stainless steels in the mid 1960’s the Company broadened its scope to include pipe fabrication for the aerospace industry. From those early beginnings supplying only the pipe fabrication, the Company developed and invested in CNC machine tools to manufacture the pipe connections and fittings. The Company now provides the complete service, from procurement of raw materials through to finished component, or assembly, ready for the customer’s finished part store or build line.
